The rate checker module is used to search and obtain the best transportation rates for various locations based on different criteria such as duration, distance, vendor, transit time, and so on. It is also used to generate and send a quote for the rate to the customer.

 

To check the rate and generate a quote, perform the following:

1.On the application home page, in the left pane, click Quotation  Rate Checker. The Rate Checker workbench appears on the right pane like the one shown below:

 

 

 

2.In the right pane, in Mode, choose the required mode of transport as SEA, TRUCK, RAIL, AIR, or ALL.

3.Choose Customer from the drop-down menu.

4.In Shipment Planned, choose the date of shipment using the date picker () icon.
Note: The Week will be automatically populated based on the chosen date.

5.Choose From Place and To Place of shipment from the respective drop-down menus.

6.Choose Shipment Type from the drop-down menu as Normal, OOG, Reefer, or IMO.

7.Choose Commodity from the drop-down menu.

8.Enter Length, Width, and Height of the commodity.
Note: Vol.Weight will be automatically populated based on the length, width, and height.

9.Enter Gross Weight and Gross Volume.

10.In Basis Type/Quantity, choose the basis type from the drop-down menu and enter the quantity.

 

 

 

11.Click Search. The transportation rates for the shipment will be displayed below.

12.Choose the best rate from the list of tariffs.

13.Click Add to Quotation to generate a quote.

 

 

14.Click Proceed to Quotation. You will be directed to the Quotation page.

 

 

15.Click Preview to view the final chosen rate for the shipment.

 

 

 

16.Click OK.

17.In the Quotation Preparation header, perform the following:

i.Choose Quotation validity date using the date picker () icon.

ii.Enter Quotation Reference number.

18.In the menu bar, click Save () icon to save and sent the quotation to the customer. A pop-up window appears.

 

 

19.Click OK.
